A negro attempted to violate the person of a young lady last week in the northern part of Greene county. Over one hundred men assembled together and hunted for three days before finding the fiend. He was hanged to a tree for his crime. Society will protect itself everywhere. Our informant states that the colored people gave information that led to the arrest and that the brute made a similar attempt on a colored girl.
