Tu HALOOSA, Jan. .–Burt Marshall, a desperate negro, was shot and killed yester- day near Sanders ferry, in this county. W. H. Wood, a constable, had a warrant for the arrest of Marshall and went to his house to serve it, Marshall picked up an ax and made at Wood, and the latter fired the fatal shot just in time to escape a blow from the ax. |
