| Transcript: | ASSAILANTS WILL GO Special to the Star. MOBILE, Oct. 5. In pursuance with an order from Judge O. J. Scmmes, of the City court. Sheriff J. F. Powers has gone to Birmingham to return to Mobile Will Thompson and Jim Robinson, two negroes charged with assaulting little white girls in this county. The sheriff will likely return tomorrow. The action taken by Sheriff Powers in enforcing the vagrancy laws is having a salutary effect. “Go to work or go to jail” is the sheriff’s slogan. |
