For murder of a 12-year-old white boy, John Burr, colored, was lynched Sunday near Wesson Miss., and at Bay Minette, Ala., Walter Clayton, colored, serving time in a prison stockade for manslaughter, was taken from the officers and lynched for an attack made on a white woman.
