FILLED FULL OF LEAD.
Swift Justice Meted Out to a Negro Fiend Near Jasper, Ala.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 6.– News has just been received of the lynching of a negro fiend near Jasper. He attempted to assault two white women. One of them screamed so loudly that it brought her husband to her assistance. The negro became frightened and ran away. The husband followed him to Black Warrior creek and fired several shots at him. With the assistance of dogs the chase was continued, and early yesterday morning the negro was found in a tree. There was no less than 200 men and numerous dogs on his trail. As soon as discovered volley after volley was poured into him, tearing his body to pieces. The negro’s name is not known.
