Transcript: | BIRMINGHAM, ALA., July 18. – A special to the Age from Tuscaloosa says: The negro, Henry Burke, who attempted to rape a little white girl of a good family a few days ago, was captured last night in the garret of an old house near Tuscaloosa. He was identified and jailed. About midnight a mob took him from the jail, hanged him to a tree in the street and put five bullet holes in his body. |
