Transcript: | Killed His Wife’s Assailant. Tuscaloosa, Ala., Aug. 240. M. Stallworth, a citizen of this section, shot and instantly killed John Thomas, a negro who attempted to assault Stallworth’s wife a week ago. The husband has been hunting for the negro since the attempt. Ho entered Mrs. Stallworth’s room and after choking her into insensibility was frightened away by Stallworth’s overseer, who heard the cries of the woman. |
