| Transcript: | Richard Burton, a 17 year old negro, caught burglarizing a store at Boyd station, Ala., was lynched by a mob. The store of Miss Kate Peale had been robbed five times. The brother of Miss Peale caught Burton and two other negroes in the store and Burton attacked his captor and wounded him. His two companions were taken to jail but Burton was lynched en route. |
