Transcript: | A Tuscaloosa special of the 25th says : “There was considerable excitement on the streets last night over the shooting of Gus Webb, a negro, by Policeman Nichols. the last one taking effect in the negro’s arm, causing a painful wound, Immediately after the shooting it was feared that a riot would be precipitated. and the Warrior Guards were ordered to assemble at their armory, but the crowd of excited negroes soon dispersed with- out any riotous demonstrations. |
