The News has given a full account of the outrage and urder of Mrs. Jesse Rucker, of Stanton, Ala, by two negroes, and of their death by indignant white citizens. The end is not yet, it would seem, Yesterday afternoon’s Selma Journal says:
The Journal is in receipt of information that the people of Stanten and vicinity are in hot pursuit of another accomplice in the outrage and murder of Mrs. Jesse Rucker. The negro has been fired upon and badly wounded, and is being trailed by his blood. It is thought he will be captured before night, and if he is the black devil in human form will meet his just fate at the hands of an infuriated people, Sheriff kennedy was telegraphed for his dogs — Birmingham News.
