Transcript: | Tuscaloosa, Ala,, Aug. 23. — John Thomas, a negro, was shot and instantly killed here by C. M. Stallworth a prominent citizen. Thomas, a day or two ago entered the room of Mrs. Stallworth choking her to insensibility, attempted to ravish her, but was frightened away before his purpose was accomplished. Stallworth since has done nothing but hunt for Thomas. No arrest has been made. |
