THE SUNDAY LAW.

A violation of the Sunday law was tried before Acting Mayor Cochrane yesterday. Mr Oliver Quinn, bartender at the Red Light saloon, was charged with selling the liquor. It seems that a prescription from a physician was OK’d by the Chief of Police for a man, who got the whiskey to put some powders in. Mr Quinn let the man have this but made the mistake of letting some others of the same party have some. The prescription could apply in the eyes of the law to only one so Mr Quinn was fined $25.00 not for selling to the first man but to other parties.
