WHITE MEN KILL NEGRO NEAR LOCK 17 MONDAY Will Moss, It Is Alleged, Opened Fire With Revolver First. Special to The Birminghani News. TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Dec. 26.-Joe Morgan and Sam Bush, two white men, from Lock 17, are in jail here charged with killing a negro, Will Moss. It seems that the negro wanted to use a small row boat belonging to the white men. They warned him not to use the boat. When they went to make the negro leave the boat, he began shoot- ing, firing, it is said, at the white men twelve times. Bush secured a shot gun, and shot the negro’s arm off, dis- abling him, and Morgan shot and killed him. Morgan and Bush were brought here late yesterday by Deputy Sheriff P. G. Wilson and placed in jail. They will be given preliminary trial before Jus- tice John G. Brady today or tomorrow.
