A negro made an attempt to rape a young lady near Eutaw, recently, but timely aid saved her. The lady was chocked and dragged forty yards. The negro was captured and hung. The fiend acknowledged that he had out-raged six women, and but for the sound of a horn in his last attempt, would have accomplished his seventh.
