DEPUTY SHERIFF J. H. BREWER IN THE CITY. Deputy Sheriff J. H. Brewer, of Samantha, who was shot and painfully wounded by a negro he was trying to arrest near that place several weeks ago, was a welcome visitor on the streets yesterday. For several days after he was shot, his many friends were fearful that the wounds would prove fatal, but are glad that he is out of danger, and will recover from his wounds. His left eye will probably be taken out at one of the local infirmaries before he re- turns to his home near Samantha.
