Transcript: | MOBILE, Ala., April 8. – It is admitted today that Walter Clayton, escaped negro trusty locked up for assaulting a white woman and who escaped from the sheriff after a mob threatened him, is still at large and heading for Pensacola. The mob was intoxicated or the negro would not have got away. Governor Comer offers $50 reward for Clayton. |
