Near Strasburg, 50 miles south of Birmingham, Ala., the body of Jim Powell, a negro, was found hanging to a tree recently. Powell entered the residence of John Bussey, a farmer near there and assaulted a young daughter of the farmer. The father, hearing the girl’s screams, went to her assistance, but the negro escaped. Pursuit was given the negro by a posse and he was captured.
