Her Murder Avenged
Special dispatch to the Globe Democrat
Selma, Ala, Febraury 16. – The little village of Stanton, Chilton County, is in a state of great excitement. The murder of Mrs. Jesse Rucker, an excellent woman, last night, has been avenged. This morning the dead body of a negro was found riddled with bullets lyning near the scene of the dastardly crime and another negro who was suspected is missing. A third negro was held under arrest at noon to-day. The place where Mrs. Rucker was assaulted and murdered is a lonely settlement, and the unfortunate woman being dead there is no way of getting at the details of the horrible crime. The Ruckers are highly respected people , many friends in Chilton and Dallas Counties.
