Is He Here?
Lewis Hendricks the Assaulted Tracked to Montgomery.
There is every reason to believe that the negro Lewis Hendricks, who is charged with having committed an assault upon Mrs. Rucker at Stanton about two weeks ago, is in Montgomery. A negro answering his description was seen yesterday about the L. and N. yard. He came down in a box car on an early freight train. Two officers from Chilton County tracked the negro go Montgomery. They came down yesterday morning also. The police authorities have been on the search for the negro, but up to midnight no trace of him had been found.
