| Transcript: | Captured and lynched Birmingham, Ala.., May 30.- Jeff Thomas a negro, who assaulted Mrs. J . V. Neal at Townley, Walker county was captured last night and is supposed to have been lynched after midnight. He was in charge of a posse awaiting the arrival of the sheriff. When the sheriff arrived he discovered that the negro was gone. All that the captors would say was that Thomas had escaped to hell. |
