Mobile, Ala., April 20. – A special to the Item from Bay Minette, Baldwin county, Alabama, says that Dock Cole, a prominent merchant and assistant postmaster at Little River, in the northern part of Baldwin county, was foully murdered last night by negroes Robbery was the motive. A posse organized and two negroes, Robert Tate and Rube Sims were arrested.

Tate confessed and a lynching is feared.

Sheriff Armstrong has left for the scene of the crime.
