MURDERER CAPTURED. Jim Seams, Who Killed Deputy Sheriff Autery, Captured After a Desperate Fight. TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Jan. 29.-The negro, Jim Seams, who shot and killed Deputy Sheriff Autery on Thursday last, was captured Friday morning on the Big Sandy. about twenty-five miles south of here, after a desperate battle with the sheriff’s posse. He was surrounded in the house of another negro and as the posse approached he opened fire, which was returned with telling effect. As the negro fired through a partly opened window he exposed the upper part of his body, and G. W. Sigman, who headed the posse, shot at him. nine buckshot taking effect in the neck and face. He was brought here and lodged in jail. His wounds are not considered fatal. There is talk of lynching, and the sheriff has telegraphed to the Governor asking him to order out the militia to protect the prisoner.
