Transcript: | Mobile, April 20. – A special from Bayminette says that Dock Cole a prominent merchant and assistant postmaster at Livle River, in the northern part of Baldwin county, was foully murdered last night by negroes. Robbery was the motive. A posse organized and two negroes, Robert Tate and Rube Sims, were arrested. Tate confessed and a lynching is feared Sheriff Armstrong has left for the scene of the crime this morning. |
