| Transcript: | NEGRO SHOT AND KILLED. Attempted to Escape While Being Conveyed to Jail. Tuscaloosa, Dec. 10.–(Special)-News was brought to the city yesterday by two citizens from Reece’s beat of an assault in their neighborhood. It is stated that the victim was a Miss Freeman, while the assailant was a negro, Sam Johnson. He was caught and while on the way to jail was shot and killed while making an attempt to escape. |
