Transcript: | SHERIEF FIRED FIRST KILLED NEGRO Threats Had Been Made Against Him and He Took No Chances. By Associated Press Tuskaloosa, Ala., Oct. 29.-Burton Hyche a deputy sheriff today shot and killed Nathan Jackson, a negro school teacher. Hyche arrested some negroes last week for fighting and received word that he would be fixed the next time seen. Jackson met Hyche in a public road and started towards him when the deputy killed him. He took no chances and got in the first shot. |
