J.O. Prude, the Sheriff, has paid over the $250 reward that he offered for the capture of Jim Seams to Col. A. C. Hargrove, and it will be delivered by him and two other gentlemen, to the ones to whom it belongs. Mr. Prude pays this amount out of his own pocket, and with the other money he spent he will be out three or four hundred dollars of his individual funds. The Governor was asked to offer a reward, but he failed to do so. Mr. Prude has come square up to the scratch and has paid what he promised like a man. He has acted all the way through the matter in a why calculated to make friends, at the same time discharging his duties as an officer of the law in a conscientious manner.
