Transcript: | J. O. PRUDE, Sheriff of Tuskaloosa County, Ala: Dear Prude:-Your postal of the 7th inst., received yesterday evening. The mail department and not I is to blame for your not getting an answer soon. Jim Seams, the negro who killed Mr. Awtrey, of your county, is getting along nicely. His wounds are almost well. Judging from the present prospects Seams will be a witness to a first class hanging in your county some day, and I hope it will be before the first Monday, in August, next. Yours, truly, S. R. TRUSS, Sh’f. |
