Columbus, Miss. August 28-A negro by the name of Lipsey was lynched near here tonight, the negro insulted Mrs. Ed Windham at her home near Pickensville, Ala, which is a short distance from here. A mob was formed at this place and after a hot pursuit, captured Lispey, took him into the presence of Mrs. Windham and hanged him to a tree. The contents of many revolvers were emptied into the body, almost riddling it.
