Transcript: | Columbus, Miss., Aug. 29 – John Gibson, a negro, was lynched at noon yesterday near Carrollton, Ala., for an attack on Mrs. Ed Winbourne at her home near that town. After he had been hanged the mob literally shot his body to pieces, which fell in bits on the ground. |
