1,000 SHOTS FIRED INTO A NEGRO’S BODY. The negro, Cleveland Hardin, who attempted an assult on Mrs. Ben F Rice on last Friday at her home near Florence, was captured Sunday, and after being identified by Mrs Rice, and himself confessing his guilt, was tied to a tree and riddled with bullets. The first shot was fired by Mr. Rice, and which was followed by every man in the crowd. Fully one thousand bulletts were fired into the negro’s body.
