| Transcript: | Filled Full of Slugs. BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 14. At Brookwood mines Deputy Sheriff Nelson went to serve a warrant for assault to murder on Will McKay, a young miner, last night. McKay reached for his pistol and Nelson fired, filling McKay with slugs. McKay died this morning. It seems that McKay’s mother, who is a widow, had been keeping company with a man who was objectionable to McKay. |
