REPRIEVE GRANTED NEGRO SENTENCED TO DIE TODAY TUSCALOOSA, ALA., Dec. 21– Frank Richardson, the negro con- demned to hang tomorrow for the killing of Brown Morton, a member of the posse which was in pursuit of Richardson, who had just killed for- mer Deputy Sheriff Tom Cooper, will not hang tomorrow because of the fact that Gov. O’Neal has granted a reprieve of sixty days. During that time the State Pardoning Board is expected to take up Richardson’s case at the request of a number of Tuscaloosa’s leading citizens. Owing to the peculiar condition of the kill- ing of Tom Cooper, it is said the sen- may be changed.
