Transcript: | THINGS ARE REPORTED QUIET IN WILCOX Montgomery, Ala., Dec. 21.- (Special.) – Limison, Wilcox county is reported quiet today, though armed bodies are searching for Will Montgomery, the fourth man who had part in the killing of Algernon Lewis on Saturday as a result of which Clint Montgomery was burned to death in an old house on yesterday and four white men shot by him before he could be silenced. A phone message says that feeling is so high on a certainty that Earnest Slade, one of the men shot by Montgomery will die and that the pursued will certainly be lynched If caught. Whites are armed, and practically every negro has left the community. |
